DanceDeco

DanceDeco 2012, Croydon

A week-long project I co-ran in 2012 combining dance and decoration. Working with fantastic facilitators Naqiya Ebrahim, Anita Wadsworth, Sarah Pimenta and Louis Rangecroft. Young people aged 11-19 in an inclusive group. Funded by Croydon Council. We used contemporary dance, street dance, screen printing, illustration and travelling to create a beautiful dance piece with the young people.
Create a Play in a Week, 2012-2017

One of my favourite projects that I have created. We have run this project twice so far.
Three groups of young people around a borough are given the same stimulus to devise a piece of theatre in a week. On day five all the groups come together to perform to each other, friends and family. Great for bringing diverse groups of people together, and for seeing how many different directions stimulus can be taken in.

We Are the Story, Crisis London 2010
A multi-arts project at charity for the homeless Crisis London. Set up and led by me and puppeteer Zoilo Lobera, and we worked with a fantastic team of participants and other arts facilitators to tell our story of London through theatre. My favourite line: "They say the streets are paved with gold, but it's really well stuck down."
